2024 Mile Marker adoption

Please let us know if you would like to sponsor a mile marker and we will add your name to this page. Individuals and businesses from the community sponsor mile markers in their own unique way. Set up at the marked miles is on Friday or early Saturday morning. Have fun and leave no trace when the race is over!

Helpful Tips:

  • Create your mile marker with a corresponding number to the mile you have adopted
    (ie mile 20 should have a 20!)
  • Mile markers should be placed and retrieved by the adoptee.
  • We MUST leave no trace.
  • Mile markers should be in place no later than 9am on race day (Dec 2) or weather permitting the day before.
  • Mile markers should be retrieved ASAP at the conclusion of our event.
  • On Golden Road place mile markers on the RIGHT (as you head toward Katahdin) using painted shingles on trees with numerals to help you locate the specific miles.
  • On paved Lake Road place mile markers on the LEFT (as you head toward Millinocket) using painted shingles on trees as well as painted numbers on paved road with numerals to help you locate the specific miles.
